List of prohibited items in Parcel/Luggage

Journey in a train is mainly a long-distance trip and when one does it, they should bring baggage as well; however, there are some policies as well as guidelines which are needed to be followed and they have been cited by the authorities of Indian Railways purely. These are:

List of hazardous things

a) Offensive articles

b) Explosive, dangerous, inflammable articles

c) Empty gas cylinders

d) Dead poultry

e) Game

f) Acids

g) Corrosive substances.

Dogs are not allowed to be carried in AC Sleeper Coaches, ACC chair car coaches sleeper class and second class coaches. If a dog is found being carried in contravention of this rule, it will be removed immediately to the brake-van and charges will be levied six times the Luggage Scale Rate subject to a minimum of Rs.50/-

General merchandise, and heavy articles in considerable quantity intended for commercial business shall not be accepted as luggage and should be booked as parcels.
